Life through the Lens

By: Nicole Long- Country Director, Laos

Woo! I just recently finished sorting through over 3000 photographs I took on a recent holiday. My travel companion kept telling me to watch my shutterbug finger because she knew about the pain I would be going through later. Now I completely understand her warnings. I have never sorted through so many from a trip before; at least one where I was only there for 10 days. It makes me never want to bring a camera along on my trip again!  Then again I would hate not to capture some of the amazing things I saw on my adventure.

Taking pictures sort of becomes a part of the journey nowadays. Sometimes the camera makes you stop and look at something from different angles instead of just a quick glance. The photographs even capture things the naked eye doesn’t see, which are great to discover while shifting through endless temple and sunset photographs (I realized I have a new addiction – shooting the sun in all forms).  I am by no means a photographer, but I do enjoy snapping away at things that catch my attention. In the future however, I will attempt to lay off the shutter.

I have a few shots from the trip below and I just wanted to see which ones were your favorites. I think I will get the one with the most votes printed and framed for my office. So, tell me which one you like best!  And just to add a little more fun, tell me where the shot was taken! Thanks for the help in my decision making process!
