AHA Restaurant Review

By: Kathryn Rose

Dinner at AHA is a great experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed yet trendy, and the wine list can’t be beat. AHA is just off of Pub St, on the end of The Passage. The menu is quite limited, but there is something there for pretty much everyone. They have small plates, which is a set of three tasting dishes of mostly Khmer food. I suggest the cheese plate as a starter, and it is easy to share with a group. The three cheese dishes were all very different, and all very tasty. There is a great selection of salads as starters, or as a full meal if you opt for the larger size. The main dishes are all Khmer inspired, or you can get a nice juicy filet if you are tired of curries and pineapple stir fries. All of the food we had was delicious, and our bottle of Australian Pinot was the perfect accompaniment. Then, for dessert, you absolutely have to try the honeycomb ice cream. It is ice cream perfection, and no trip to AHA would be complete without it.

The cool lights inside AHA

For such a nice restaurant, set just off of Pub St, the prices are very affordable. This makes AHA a much more accessible option, and one that I will certainly be taking advantage of again. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during high season. Lunch and dinner are served daily.
