Private Villas in Cambodia – A Great Option

Traditional hotels are not your only options when heading to Cambodia. Why not let Journeys Within tailor your accommodations …

Private Villa in Cambodia

Many people may know that Journeys Within Tour company started with the opening of Journeys Within Bed and Breakfast in Siem Reap. Guests were looking to travel to the recently opened Angkor Wat temple complex, but wanted to stay in a place that felt like a home away from home. While it has been almost ten years since Journeys Within Bed and Breakfast opened, and it has since grown into a beautiful boutique hotel, the heart of being a home away from home and the desire of our guests to achieve that same experience, hasn’t really changed.

As more of our guests head to Cambodia to get an authentic look into the culture and the highlights, there are now more options than ever to stay at a home away from home while touring. A great option for those traveling as a family or in a group, is to rent a private villa. Journeys Within specializes in tailoring not only tours, we’re always looking to include the perfect accommodation for you as well. Private villas range from luxury estates with full service butler and cooks on staff, to the rental of a more traditional home with no frills or extras. Private Villas can be a great cost effective way to have multiple rooms so your family can have space without breaking your budget.  With sizes ranging from one bedroom lofts to eight bedroom estates, the possibilities are endless and Journeys Within is here to help you find the right fit for your interests and your budget.

Private Villa in Kep

While private villas give you the space you need and that home away from home experience, what I truly love about private villas is that they encourage slow travel. In renting a villa you’re encouraged to take your time in one location and when you do that it allows you to go beyond the highlights, and to delve into the heart of the culture of the city you’re visiting. Having those extra days without moving often makes the difference between catching the highlights and that moment when you feel like you’ve truly discovered something. Slow travel is also a great option for families traveling with younger kids, who don’t want to take a lot of flights, but want their kids to have a fun, full and educational experience. In traveling with my two young kids and wanting to limit the traveling and max the touring, I‘ve found the time to do those interesting tours which are normally the first to get cut out of your three day temple plan.

Often times after a long holiday exploring the ins and outs of temples and the cultures of these countries, it’s really nice to end the trip with some extended beach time. It’s nice to take a break from physically moving from here to there, and also I think it’s beneficial to have some emotional down time at the end of your trip so you can really reflect and absorb all you’ve taken in on your adventure. If you’re looking to have extended beach time, renting a villa for your stay can be a great way to do so. You can have your space to relax and take in the beautiful beach around you and feel like you’re truly getting away from it all. The Cambodian beaches are a great way to end your tour of Cambodia and not add in the extra travel by heading to a Thailand beach.
