An Amazing Family Experience at Song Saa

The Redinger family, repeat travelers with Journeys Within, recently returned from Song Saa Island in Cambodia, and had rave reviews.

Christine said some of their favorite experiences were a family trip to the Song Saa Foundation, meeting villagers, seeing the local school, snorkeling, and their 7-year-old loved the treasure hunt.

Dining:
“The whole experience at Song Saa is so unique. Every day you have your set
menu along with the daily menu that changes. The food is top notch. In the
later afternoon you have a note left for you which gives you your daily
dinner menu and the location you will be dining. We loved this concept! Some
nights we did as a couple and others as a family. If the kids were dining on
their own, we prearranged that earlier, and the Chef made any kid-friendly
food we requested.”

Service:
“Kim-Chhe, our Guest Experiences Coordinator, put together a great itinerary
for us. She had our oldest baking cookies with the Chef (7 years old) while
our youngest (2 years old) she would entertain around the island, in our
Villa or in the kids playroom. All this so Kyle and I could have a spa
morning or do a small hike. These are the little details that really set
this place a part.”

Accommodations:
“we experienced both two bedroom villas. The over the water
(villa 1) and a jungle (villa 11). We enjoyed both but for us the over the
water is the way to go. There will probably be only a handful of times you
get to experience staying over the water. At night while sitting by your
pool listening to the fish jumping, and during the day watching daily
Cambodian life go by on their boats – I think well worth it.

Final Thoughts:
“We were sad to leave and to have to wear shoes again. We can’t wait to go
back! You got us an amazing rate at Song Saa. If it wasn’t for you I probably would not have booked it. We have traveled extensively and this was hands down the most truly kid friendly place we have stayed.”
