Its almost starting to look like we actually have new buildings on site! The new bungalows are still just a foundation with some pillars, but the new kitchen and massage room is actually 2 stories high and in the process of getting a second story ceiling! Now that it is rainy season, we get at least a few bursts of rain every day, which makes the cement drying process take much longer. But the crew, dressed to the nines in skinny jeans, flip flops and multiple layers of shirts, power through and do the best they can with the weather.

Here’s hoping it doesn’t rain too hard in the next few days so they can get the second floor on the bungalows!
Very exciting to watch! Yes, we know we are enjoying a noise free view. 🙂 The rain is a mixed blessing for the concrete to cure. It’s important to water it so it crystalizes and becomes stronger. Too much rain and it hardens a little slower but it hardens well and won’t be brittle. What a great treat for Brandon to come back to. How close will it be to being done when Andrea comes back in five weeks?
Thanks for sharing the progress.
Samnang L’or,
Janet
Our opening date is September/October, so we still have a long road ahead! Once we have walls up though, it will feel like a lot more progress has been made. I am excited for that day to come, and it should happen before Andrea gets back (I sure hope so!)
I am glad you enjoy reading these updates Janet!
