Sutter Allen, the daughter of a past Journeys Within Tour Company guest, is heading to Cambodia with her friend Ilana. They will be staying at Journeys Within Boutique Hotel and volunteering at both Journeys Within (in exchange for room and board) and Journeys Within Our Community. Sutter and Ilana have great attitudes and we’re excited to have them on our team for the summer. They have started a blog here and below is their first email.
Hello! Sua s’dei!
Yesterday we met with Andrea to go over our trip! We were so excited to learn about our responsibilities at the Journeys Within B&B and different projects. Specially, we are going to put together a restaurant guide for guests, including menus and reviews from the staff, play games in JWOC, organize DVDs, and work with the website to add links so more people can see what Journeys has to offer! This will be Ilana’s first time to Cambodia, actually to Asia, so we cannot wait to take her to the temples, the markets, the villages, and definitely Tonle Sap. But most of all, we are looking forward to working with the staff, children, and other guests at the B&B! We are currently busy planning fun games, activities, and maybe even field trips for the children. Sutter cannot wait to eat at the Khmer Family Kitchen, as that was her favorite place to eat last time she was there. We are excited for our early mornings and to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat at least once! We are counting down the hours until we arrive!
