Working for an international travel company and having everyday correspondence with people from all around the world, it can often be easy to forget just how far apart we really are. Our US office is based in Truckee, California a charming town near Lake Tahoe. Today is clear, 27 degrees (f) with an expected 12 inches of snowfall overnight. I just Googled the temperature in Siem Reap, Cambodia and found out it was 95 degrees (f) there today – hmmm, only about a 70 degree temperature difference between offices!
On a day like today I was reminded how different the places we reside truly are. As Andrea sends pictures of Callie and Couper out visiting Angkor Wat at night and she and Couper at lunch at Friends in Phnom Penh – I stopped and thought of the pictures on my computer of Gavin “skiing”, catching snowflakes and Gavin and I at the Thomas the Tank Engine Live show. I also thought of Denise’s busy schedule attending and helping with her two sons’ Nordic ski races.
It is differences like these that make the space between our two offices seem so very large. However I must say it is the spaces and the differences that make traveling between the two places so very wonderful.
